Portage Aquatic Club was developed for age group swimmers who wish to cultivate their swimming ability. The program runs nearly year-round (mid-September through mid-March and mid-April through early August). The program is open to swimmers age 6 and older who can swim the length of the pool. New swimmers will be tested at their first practice to assure they are in the appropriate group. This is not a "learn-to-swim" program.
All swimmers will be REQUIRED to participate ALL meets (unless the coach determines they are not ready). Meet participation is important for the individual development as well as supporting the team. Swimmers gain confidence while using the skills they are working on at practice. They learn the values of team work, sportsmanship and commitment.
NEW: PAC will now offer "open enrollment" and fees will be paid on a monthly basis, due in advance, on the 5th of each month. You also have the option to pay for the entire season and receive an "advanced paid discount." (Call the Community Education Center office at 323-6700 for pricing.) Participants are encouraged to swim the maximum number of practices offered. There will be no proration of monthly membership fees if your swimmer chooses to swim fewer days or start in the middle of a billing period.
PAC offers two competitive meet options, participating in both USA swimming and the local South Central Swim League (SCSL). All SCSL meet fees are incorporated into registration fees, so there are no additional costs to members other than personal equipment. USA fees vary by meet.
Please read group descriptions carefully to assure your child is in the correct group.
