Instruction in Highland Piping and Scottish Drumming is offered to interested people at least 10 years of age and older. While prior instrumental musical experience is desirable, but not required, a strong commitment to doing the necessary practicing is essential for success. The Fall semester is a prerequisite for the Winter/Spring semester. Highland pipes demands lots of finger dexterity and offer only one sound level - very loud. Percussionists will find that Scottish Drumming offers a new perspective on rhythm and stick control.
